Hmmm. . . Should this be posted in “life” or “mysteries”? — maybe both. This is life here, which remains a mystery much of the time. . .
The city’s been changing out all the sewer and water, and have spent and inordinant amount of time on our street, digging the same hole at least three times in our yard. Today, the guy was out again with the backhoe, scraping the pavement whenever he went forward and beeping whenever he reversed. TODAY I don’t think he woke my daughter up, but the other day — they woke her in the morning AND from her nap. Amazing how they take a liberal lunch break, and then come back right at nap time. Anyway, I was wondering how on earth they could be spending so much time here, until I caught sight of what’s really going on.
Such was the site from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., whereupon they promptly packed everything up and drove away. “Time to go home after a hard day’s work!” (Yawn.) (Stretch.) (Shake off lethargy.)
Hmmm. . . explain to me why three men need to stand in my yard for 8 hours, and why they needed to stand in my neighbor’s yard for the same yesterday. . .
I love seeing my taxes go to such good work!

nice. . the interrupted nap would have really bummed me!!! Jan
OH MY WORD. That is pitiful!
