Here’s the almost finished version of Ava & Luke’s room. I’m not too cracked up about the blinds on the windows, but they work.
And, I’m proud to say that I quilted almost all of Ava’s blanket myself. . . It’s not the greatest work of art, but I’m getting a little better at it.
Also, note ceiling bravely painted dark gray.
Just as a note to how cheap I am –
- The red on the book chair and on the top of the curtains comes from a chair cover I bought at the Economy Shop — $2.
- The black on the book chair — 50% off clearance — $2.
- The white part of the curtains — Target bedskirt bought at Dirt Cheap — $1.
- The black dresser in the closet — from Mom & Dad’s hideous trailer — FREE — painted with black paint I already had and wooden knobs sprayed with silver paint I already had.
- The ugly fan — FREE — from our study, ugly brass parts sprayed with same silver paint.
Ah, the joys of getting a good deal . . . and using up old junk . . .

I’m so proud of you! I wouldn’t call it cheap–it’s creative and resourceful! I love the spray paint. ( :
Well, I think it’s adorable! You did a wonderful job!
