My kids love to create. I let Ava stitch together some gingerbread men a couple of days ago. They’re definitely the work of a 5-year-old, but I guess that’s part of the charm. Then, this morning, Luke & I cut and glued some mittens out of wrapping paper. He was so excited to push the needle through them to put the string in – small pleasures. Then, in a stroke of genius (or something), I decided to show him how to make a paper chain. We used the cool scalloping scissors. I neglected to inform him that they were actually fabric scissors, and, well, that does mean they cut fabric.
Fortunately, the pants were from the Economy Shop, although this is only the second time he’s worn them.
Anyway, this is the end result of my kids’ stuff. They were so excited with the display of their Thanksgiving thumbprint turkeys that I’ve pretty much decided a small amount of tackyness may be worth it. After all, we are a family of little kids. We might as well feel like we all belong and contribute here.

What a great Mother you are – those kids are awfully blessed to have a Mom that makes very clear how very important the work of their hands are! These are treasures to keep forever!
